How to fix an iPad that is frozen or won't power on

It's amazing how much we rely on our mobile devices! When our iPads stop working as expected, it can put a damper on our day. If your screen is black or frozen, you might need to force restart your device. The good news is, a force restart won't erase the content on your device. Sometimes, turning your device off and on again can go a long way in terms of resolving iPadOS issues. You can force restart your device even if the screen is black or the buttons aren't responding.

On an iPad

  1. Press and hold any volume button and the top button until the Apple logo appears, then let go.

If your device still won't turn on or startup

  • Plug in your device and let it charge for up to one hour.

If your device continues to have issues, please send us a message.
